CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 302 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 25 mm, 7.80 g, 9 h). Youthful nude jockey riding horse walking right; below, ΣA above ionic capital. Rev. TAPAΣ / K[ON] Phalantos riding dolphin left, holding serpent in right hand. Fischer-Bossert 975. Vlasto 654. Beautifully toned and with a reverse of particularly fine style. The obverse somewhat weak, otherwise, extremely fine.
